This Web-based program is self-paced and consists of reading, video clips and PDF files which you may print and add to your personal reference library. The program offers general education guidelines. We recommend using the material in partnership with your health care provider.

Upon your paid registration, you will receive a workbook and PIN number to access the Understanding Your Newborn Education Web site. You will have access to the Web site for 18 months. The materials will be sent through the mail and can take up to seven business days to arrive. Once mailed there are no refunds for this class.

Payment does cover 2 seats in this class, one for mom and one for her partner/guest. After your registration is complete you will receive a Team meeting invitation that will arrive to your email mailbox the day your the class begins. Please check your spam and trash mailboxes. The educational materials will be mailed to your home.

This one-session virtual class is for adults caring for newborns during the first six weeks of life.

During the virtual class, a Beaumont nurse discusses baby's characteristics, holding, bathing, feeding, diapering, burping, crying, sleeping, illness and current safety recommenations.

This class is for families that have already given birth and have a newborn. 

Congratulations on your new baby! We would love to help you and your partner make the transition from pregnancy and birth to parenthood. 

During this virtual class, we will talk about your adjustment to parenthood and cover the following topics:

  • The first three months after birth with your newborn
    • Newborn sleep
    • Newborn soothing techniques
      • A brief introduction to infant massage

    • Newborn feeding
  • Postpartum Adjustment
      • Emotional and physical for the birth parent
  • Warning signs for the birth parent and baby, and when to follow up with your healthcare provider
  • Resources and tools for new parents

This class is designed for families with a newborn from birth to 8 weeks old.
