This virtual, one - session class is for adults caring for newborns during the first six weeks following birth. The Understanding Your Newborn class discusses baby characteristics, behaviors, crying, soothing, sleeping, feeding, illness, and current safety recommendations. It also includes baby basics, such as, holding, burping, bathing, and diapering. Beaumont's Understanding Your Newborn class is taught by a registered nurse, perinatal patient educator.
When registering please use the pregnant parents' name. Payment does cover 2 seats in this class, one for the pregnant parent and one for the partner/guest. After your registration is complete you will receive a Team meeting invitation that will arrive to your email mailbox the day before or day of your class start date. Please check your spam and trash mailboxes. The educational material will be mailed to the address listed in your registration.
