Discussion will cover what to expect from the time you arrive at the hospital until your discharge home. Your questions might relate to your hospital stay, clarification of class offerings, or resources available for pregnant individuals and their partner. Obtain answers to those "Burning Questions' from a nurse who works for Beaumont Health

This session is NOT meant to substitute for a childbirth class.

This virtual one-session class is designed for expectant fathers and is for dads only. A registered nurse and experienced dad co-teach this virtual class that emphasizes the important role of the new dad. 

During the class, you will learn about supporting your partner during recovery and early weeks after birth, feeding your new baby, holding, changing, bathing, crying, sleeping, signs of illness, and safety.

Information in this class is similar to Understanding Your Newborn.

This virtual one-session class is designed for expectant partners and is for partners only. A registered nurse and experienced partner co-teach this virtual class that emphasizes the important role of the new parent partner. 

During the class, you will learn about supporting the pregnant - birth parent during recovery and early weeks after birth, feeding your new baby, holding, changing, bathing, crying, sleeping, signs of illness, and safety.

Some information in this class is similar to Understand Your Newborn.

Beaumont's virtual HypnoBirthing class - is a 5-week series taught by a registered nurse, perinatal patient educator, certified HypnoBirthing Educator, using Microsoft Teams. The official HypnoBirthing ® - The Mongan Method book, workbook and the Rainbow Relaxation drop card are used in the class and are included with the registration fee. The birthing individual and support person should attend together. You can enroll in this course any time after your sixth month of pregnancy. Please plan to complete your class four to six weeks before your due date. 

HypnoBirthing is as much a philosophy of childbirth as it is a technique for a satisfying, relaxing, and stress - free method of birthing. Instruction includes deep relaxation, self-hypnosis, special breathing, visulaizations, and affirmations. Information is presented with the use of simple, positive language meant to reduce fears associated with birthing. The emphasis is on the normalcy of birthing using mental and physical techniques in hopes of achieving a shorter, safer, calmer, and more comfortable birth experience.

When registering please use the pregnant parents' name. Payment does cover 2 seats in this class, one for the pregnant parent and one for the partner/guest. Beaumont's virtual Natural Birth class is taught by a registered nurse childbirth educator using Microsoft Teams. The goal of the class is to help you work with your body to increase comfort, enhance the birth process, decrease or eliminate the need for pain medications, increase your confidence, and assist you in developing a personal plan for your baby's birth. During the virtual class, we will focus on natural comfort techniques for labor and birth, normal newborn care after birth, and postpartum recovery. Classes run three weeknights, two consecutive Saturdays, or a Saturday/Sunday option.

When registering please use the pregnant parents' name. Payment does cover 2 seats in this class, one for the pregnant parent and one for the partner/guest. After your registration is complete you will receive a Team meeting invitation that will arrive to your email mailbox the day before or day of your class start date.  Please check your spam and trash mailboxes. The educational materials will be mailed to the address listed in your registration.

You and your support person should attend the virtual class together. You can take this series any time after your 6th month of pregnancy. Please plan to complete your birthing classes four to six weeks before your due date.
